We-Travel is a personal initiative to develop a free navigation solution for Java enabled mobile phones. We-Travel is in early development. It just starts to show the first signs of usable behaviour.
RC15 has proven to be again a big step forward in terms of speed, reliability and quality of route calculations.
Basic routing functionality is now reasonably stable provided the map quality is good.
RC15 also includes the majority of the planned tourism information, with 280 000 downloadable Wikipedia articles, 20 000 Wiki travel guides, 50 000 online bookable budget and discount hotels and the best 300 000 Panoramio pictures. (requires a performant mobile phone)
New country maps with the tourism POI's are now available from the download page.
The main new feature for RC15 is the possibility to add custom maps to zoom from individual people on to the whole planet. Big thanks to Periklast !

Turn-by-Turn Voice Guided Navigation :
Based on your location, We-Travel gives you clear voice directions to reach your destination in an optimal way, either by car, bike or foot, supported by a 3D 'bird's eye' rotating map display.
Open and Free :
We-Travel is a totally free navigation software for java enabled mobile phones, based on map data from Open Street Map.
Always Available :
All map data is stored locally on your phone. This ensures We-Travel works offline in places where there is no mobile phone reception, abroad or in the countryside. And as a plus, there are no telecom costs associated with route calculation or map display !
